Category:Astronomy
This category collects astronomical and astrophysical work on this wiki: observation and interpretation of stars, galaxies, quasars, the solar system and the wider universe, together with celestial mechanics.
It overlaps deliberately with Category:Cosmology, which covers the origin and large-scale structure of the universe, and with Category:Redshift, which covers the interpretation of spectral shifts — the single most contested observational question in this literature, since almost everything the standard model says about distance, age and expansion rests on reading redshift as recession velocity.
Entries include anomalous-redshift and quasar-association work in the tradition of Halton Arp, alternative accounts of stellar structure and energy generation, solar system dynamics and the exploded-planet literature, variable stars, pulsars, and observational challenges to accepted distance scales.
