Hartmut Warm (born 1956) is a German civil engineer and independent researcher in astronomy, geometry, and the history of harmonics who argues that the movements of the planets in the Solar System correspond closely to simple geometric figures and musical intervals. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Work
Warm is the author of Signature of the Celestial Spheres: Discovering Order in the Solar System (German original Die Signatur der Sphären), published through his Keplerstern Verlag. Using the distances, velocities, and conjunction periods of the planets, together with the rotations of the Sun, Moon, and Venus, he presents graphical constructions in which the relative motions of pairs and groups of planets trace regular geometric forms. He interprets these patterns as evidence of an underlying order in the Solar System, casting the work as a modern, computationally based revival of the ancient "harmony of the spheres" associated with Pythagoras and Johannes Kepler. He has also produced the "Keplerstern" software used to generate and display these planetary "link-line" figures.
Warm is described in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists as a critic of the Big Bang model. His harmonic-geometric interpretation of planetary order is not part of mainstream astronomy, which accounts for orbital arrangements through gravitational dynamics rather than geometric or musical design.
