Once a Smaller Earth is a 1983 book by Emil Gert advancing the Expanding Earth hypothesis.
Overview
Gert argues that the Earth was once considerably smaller and has grown to its present size over geological time. Like other Expanding-Earth writers, he holds that this growth — rather than plate-tectonic drift and subduction — better accounts for the fit of the continents and the pattern of the ocean floors. The book appeared during the early-1980s revival of interest in Earth expansion (the period of S. W. Carey's 1981 Sydney symposium).
About the author
