Books needing cover images
This page tracked book pages on the Natural Philosophy Wiki that had no cover image.
Status as of 19 July 2026: every book page now has a cover image. The backlog has been cleared in two stages:
- 48 real covers were sourced automatically by ISBN — 44 from Open Library and 4 from Google Books.
- 456 auto-generated placeholder covers were created for the books where no real cover could be found anywhere online. These are plain typographic covers showing the book's title and author.
Books that still want a real cover
The 456 placeholder covers are stand-ins. They are all listed in Category:Book with placeholder cover — that category is now the working list for this task.
To replace one with a real cover:
- Upload the real cover image (e.g.
File:<Book title> cover.jpg). - Set
| image = <filename>in the book's {{Infobox book}}. - Remove
Category:Book with placeholder coverfrom the page.
Notes
The free ISBN-based cover sources are essentially exhausted for the remaining titles: Open Library does not hold them, and Google Books returns an "image not available" placeholder or an interior page scan rather than a cover. Remaining real covers will need to be sourced manually, usually from a publisher's or bookseller's page.
