The objections catalogued here recur in a consistent set. They include: the horizon and flatness problems and the ad hoc character of the inflation invoked to solve them; the proliferation of unobserved entities — dark matter, dark energy — required to keep the model fitting observation; objects apparently older or more distant than the model permits; the interpretation of the cosmic microwave background; the anomalous redshifts and quasar associations documented by Halton Arp; and the methodological complaint that the model retrodicts more readily than it predicts.
