Michael Fernand Praamsma (born 1947) is a Dutch-American engineer and independent researcher whose interests include the Aether, the Big Bang, Relativity, Ancient Civilizations, and Metaphysics. He holds dual Dutch and United States citizenship and divides his time between the west coast of the United States and the Netherlands.
Biography
Praamsma was born in 1947 in the post-World War II Netherlands. His parents, who had experienced the Great Depression as teenagers and the war as young adults, joined the European post-war exodus and moved the family to Australia, where they lived from 1950 to 1960. Finding Australian life more of a frontier than the cosmopolitan society they sought, the family relocated to the United States around 1960.
As a Dutch citizen, Praamsma fulfilled his military obligation by serving in the armed forces of the Netherlands, which allowed him to avoid service in Vietnam. He later became a citizen of both the United States and the Netherlands.
A semi-retired engineer, Praamsma continues to spend part of each year in the Netherlands. His personal interests include sailing and opera, with a particular fondness for the works of Giuseppe Verdi.
Work
Praamsma describes his intellectual aim as addressing what he regards as scientific, political, and religious problems of the present era. A recurring theme of his written work is the idea of a convergence, or "melding," of science, politics, and religion.
