V V Mylnikov (V. V. Mylnikov) is a Russian independent researcher known for his collaboration with the Kuban State Agrarian University professor Philipp M Kanarev on an alternative model of atomic and molecular structure, described by its authors as the "Russian theory of the microworld".

Biography

Little biographical information about Mylnikov has been published. He is listed as a Russian researcher and appears in the scientific literature only through his joint publications with Philipp M. Kanarev, with whom he corresponded and published in the early 2010s. He is included in Jean de Climont's Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Work

Working with Kanarev, Mylnikov co-authored papers presenting and defending Kanarev's alternative model of the microworld, an approach that rejects the standard quantum-mechanical description of the atom in favour of geometric, ring-and-plane structures for photons, electrons, protons, neutrons, nuclei, atoms, molecules and clusters.

Their joint paper Resolution of the Russian Theory of Microworld re-examines published electron- and scanning-tunnelling-microscope images of atoms, including images produced by IBM Research, and argues that the interpretations usually given to those images are mistaken. In the paper the authors claim that their theoretical model resolves the structure of the inhabitants of the microworld at a scale several orders of magnitude finer than scanning microscopes can achieve, and they present the carbon atom as a flat, six-armed structure whose six surface electrons include only three that perform valence functions.

A companion paper, Photos of the Inhabitants of the Microworld, presents the same theoretical images of photons, electrons, protons, neutrons, nuclei, atoms, molecules and clusters as an alternative to microscope imagery.
