Stan J. Deyo (born 1946) is an American-Australian author, lecturer, and self-taught researcher best known for his 1978 book The Cosmic Conspiracy and for his writings on antigravity and electrogravitic propulsion. His work centers on claims about suppressed propulsion and energy technologies, reverse-engineered aerospace craft, and biblical prophecy. These ideas fall outside the scientific mainstream and are generally regarded as speculative, though Deyo presents them as the product of his own research and experience.
Biography
Deyo was born in Clifton, Texas, into a family he describes as American pioneers, and spent his early childhood in nearby Valley Mills. He attended J.F. Kimball High School in Dallas, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, captained the rifle team, and served as a cadet officer in the ROTC. He received a congressional appointment to the United States Air Force Academy, entering in the early 1960s, but left before graduating. He subsequently trained in computer programming and systems analysis on IBM mainframes and worked as a systems analyst and programmer.
Deyo has stated that his private research into electrogravitic propulsion led to his recruitment into classified aerospace projects and to contact with the FBI. In 1971-1972 he moved to Australia, where he says he sought to continue propulsion research at the Aeronautical Research Laboratories in Melbourne. He came to wider public attention in 1977 when he appeared in the Australian television documentary UFOs Are Here, discussing his views on classified aerospace programs.
Deyo later returned to the United States and settled in Pueblo West, Colorado. He is the co-founder, with his wife Holly Deyo, of Deyo Enterprises LLC, a book-publishing and web-services company, and has been a frequent guest on the late-night radio program Coast to Coast AM. He has also lectured at the university level in computer graphics and 3D animation. A student of the Bible who identifies with Messianic belief, Deyo integrates religious and prophetic themes into much of his later work.
Work
Deyo's central claim, first set out in The Cosmic Conspiracy (1978), is that governments have secretly cooperated to study and reverse-engineer advanced aerospace technology, including craft using electrically driven, "antigravity" propulsion. He argues that a working method of propulsion based on ionized plasma and high-voltage fields around a disc-shaped craft is feasible, and he links these ideas to the earlier "electrogravitics" research associated with the aerospace industry of the 1950s and to the work of Nikola Tesla.
His broader writing addresses what he calls harnessing the solar wind and atmospheric energy for ground-level electricity generation, wireless transmission of power, and earthquake prediction using solar and geophysical data. In later decades Deyo increasingly connected these technical claims to biblical prophecy and to warnings about geophysical and societal disruption.
Deyo's propulsion and energy claims have not been demonstrated in peer-reviewed settings and are not accepted within mainstream physics or engineering; concepts such as practical electrogravitic "antigravity" propulsion remain unsupported by established science. His books are generally categorized within UFO and alternative-science literature. Deyo maintains that his conclusions derive from his own analysis and firsthand involvement in aerospace research.
