Paul Malinaric (March 14, 1935 – February 25, 2019) was an American physicist and independent researcher who specialised in electrostatics and high-voltage phenomena. He spent his career in industrial research and development before founding his own consulting firm, Electrostatic Consulting Associates, in Groton, Massachusetts.
Biography
Paul J. Malinaric was born on March 14, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the Carnegie Institute of Technology (Carnegie Tech, now Carnegie Mellon University), and afterwards undertook graduate study at the University of Pennsylvania while beginning his professional career.
He died on February 25, 2019 in Groton, Massachusetts, at the age of 83.
Career
Malinaric began his working life at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where he conducted research on high voltage. He then moved into copier development with the Xerox Corporation, work that drew directly on his expertise in electrostatics. Relocating to the Boston area, he held positions at Honeywell, Chomerics and the Itek Corporation.
After settling in Groton, Massachusetts, he established his own company, Electrostatic Consulting Associates, through which he carried out work for the United States Navy, NASA and BAE Systems.
Professional affiliations
Malinaric was a member of the Electrostatics Society of America, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the American Physical Society. He was also a supporter of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON).
