Morgan Jay Boardman (born July 13, 1968) is an American physicist, experimentalist and technology entrepreneur who co-founded Morningstar Applied Physics, LLC and is known for his investigations of anomalous electromagnetic and magnetic phenomena, Lorentz force devices, and hybrid fusion/fission energy concepts.
Biography
Boardman brought some 30 years of private-sector experience across multiple segments of industry before turning to research in advanced physics. In 2009 he co-founded Morningstar Applied Physics, LLC of Vienna, Virginia, together with Paul A. Murad, with the stated aim of investigating technologies lying outside conventional wisdom. He managed the finance and strategy of the company and sustained its operations for roughly ten years, seeking out under-resourced opportunities in advanced physics for development and commercialization.
He has also worked in a university setting, providing support in commercialization, strategic contract development, intellectual property and risk management to staff and students of the ASPIRE diamond group at the South West Nuclear Hub in the School of Physics at the University of Bristol.
Work
As an experimentalist at Morningstar, Boardman worked on unusual phenomena involving electromagnetic and Lorentz forces. With Murad and plasma physicist John E. Brandenburg he took part in the design and construction of the "Morningstar Energy Box" in 2011, an apparatus built to capture detailed test data on devices related to the Searl Effect Generator and to the rotating-magnet experiments of the Russian researchers Godin and Roschin. The device used laminated rollers and a main ring containing a ferromagnetic fluid to enhance its electrical and magnetic properties. The investigators reported repeatable anomalous behavior, including transient weight fluctuations, temperature changes and the generation of a magnetic field, while remaining critical of the original theoretical explanations offered for such devices.
Boardman helped organize and develop Morningstar projects in areas such as photonic computing, hybrid fusion/fission reactor concepts and advanced space propulsion. He has co-authored papers on topics ranging from electromagnetic and Lorentz-force devices to the automated identification of betavoltaic components in the circuit-board waste stream.
