Massimo Odasso (born 16 November 1958) is an Italian electronic engineer and independent researcher known for his work in Galilean physics and his self-published proposal of a framework he calls "The New Galilean Age". He lives in Bollengo, in the Province of Turin, Italy.

Biography

Odasso graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1983 at the Turin Polytechnic (Politecnico di Torino). He spent his career outside academic and public institutions, working in private industry. In his early professional years he worked in the electronic typewriters design department of the Olivetti multinational company, where his project activity focused on digital and analog hardware and real-time firmware.

Around the age of forty he moved to a multinational company in the semiconductor market. He first served as Reliability Manager for a branch of telecommunications products, and later took on a role in Quality Assurance for dedicated strategic customers, a managerial position focused on keeping key customers informed of the development progress of the products to be delivered to them.

Odasso is also affiliated with AIRC (Italian Association for Cancer Research) as a promotion member.

Work

Outside his professional activity, Odasso developed an interest in the foundations of physics, revisiting classical concepts that he felt had been passively accepted during his formal education. Over the course of a year, working in his free time, he organized his ideas into an eBook he titled "The New Galilean Age", which he presented for open discussion to interested readers. His stated motivation was a concern that certain mathematical paradigms proposed by contemporary authors introduced physical ambiguities. His writings develop a Galilean, non-relativistic perspective, including a proposed "Galilean Inertia Model" and a suggested revision of the modern Michelson–Morley experiment concerning its counter-frequency acquisition setup, which he argued could test both classical non-relativistic predictions and the predictions of his own framework.
