Marco Pereira is a physicist and chemist known for developing the Hypergeometrical Universe Theory (HU), an independent cosmological model that lies outside mainstream physics. He holds a Ph.D. in physics and chemistry and has published on the theory in books, articles, and online since the mid-2000s.

Biography

Pereira earned a Ph.D. in physics and chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990 and subsequently held a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester. His earlier research spanned nuclear physics, physical chemistry, molecular biophysics, and molecular genetics. He later worked in the financial sector in areas including investment banking, program trading, and fixed-income and credit-derivatives pricing and risk management, and founded QuantSapiens, a venture focused on artificial intelligence, energy, and finance. He has also served as an adjunct at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Scientific contributions

Pereira introduced the Hypergeometrical Universe Theory around 2005–2006 as a proposed reformulation of physics. The theory recasts all matter as deformations of the local metric (space), introduces an additional non-compact spatial coordinate, and proposes a lightspeed-expanding hyperspherical topology for the three-dimensional universe. In this framework, the 3D universe is described as residing on a moving hypersurface within a four-dimensional spatial manifold.

Central to the theory is a model of matter that Pereira calls the Fundamental Dilator, in which the four particles (electron, proton, antiproton, and positron) are treated as four phases of a coherence between stationary deformation states of the local metric spinning in the 4D spatial manifold. In this model, Fundamental Dilator interactions occur through dilaton waves generated by the coherence, presented as analogous to electronic interactions mediated by electromagnetic waves. Using this topology and model of matter, Pereira has sought to derive natural laws and cosmological constants from first principles by means of a Lagrangian principle in which dilators dilate in phase with the surrounding dilaton field. He has applied the theory to topics including gravitational lensing, the precession of Mercury's perihelion, the Voyager anomaly, double-jet black holes, and a model for the hyperon family. The theory also proposes that the gravitational constant varies with the 4D radius of the universe.

The Hypergeometrical Universe Theory has not been adopted by the mainstream physics community, and Pereira has developed and disseminated it largely outside conventional academic channels.
