Lucio Ernest "Luke" Gatto Jr. (June 20, 1944 – January 1, 2019) was an American biologist, healer, and independent researcher who explored connections between geometry, topology, and the structure of living matter. Biography
Gatto was born on June 20, 1944, in the United States, the son of Dr. Lucio Ernest Gatto Sr., a psychiatrist, and Janice Sedorchuk Gatto. He earned degrees in biology and chemistry from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
In 1974 he founded the Human Dimensions Institute West in Ojai, California, an organization that later became known as The Ojai Foundation. He first came to New Mexico as a student of the nutritionist and healer Hazel Parcells, and he later settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico. An explorer of the Theosophical movement, he developed lasting friendships associated with the Findhorn community and was regarded within his circle as a healer and student of Hopi philosophy.
Gatto died on January 1, 2019, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Work
Gatto's interests bridged the natural sciences and philosophy. According to his biography, he had a particular passion for hyper-dimensional physics, and within the Natural Philosophy community his work is catalogued under the themes of geometry, topology, toroidal physics, and DNA structure.
