Len G. Danczyk is an American electrical engineer and independent energy researcher based in Santa Barbara, California. He is known for his work on rechargeable zinc-air battery systems for electric vehicles and for his investigations into alternative and unconventional energy concepts, through which he is associated with the dissident-science community.

Biography

Danczyk earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1976, and later completed a Master of Business Administration in Technology Management at the University of Phoenix in 2000.

During the late 1980s and early 1990s he was affiliated with Dreisbach ElectroMotive, Inc. (DEMI) of Santa Barbara, California, a firm developing rechargeable zinc-air battery technology for electric-vehicle applications. He subsequently founded Energetics Technology, LLC in Santa Barbara, where he continued to work on energy-related research and development.

Work

At Dreisbach ElectroMotive, Danczyk contributed to the development of a maintenance-free rechargeable zinc-air battery intended to operate at room temperature. The technology was promoted as offering a substantially higher energy density than the nickel-cadmium and lead-acid batteries then common in electric vehicles. His work included testing multi-cell zinc-air battery packs in Chrysler minivans converted to electric drive under the sponsorship of Southern California Edison, as well as longer-range vehicle configurations. This research was reported in Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) technical papers, including "Rechargeable Zinc-Air Batteries in Electric Vehicle Applications" (1990) and later work on second-generation zinc-air powered electric minivans.

Danczyk has also pursued research into unconventional and alternative energy concepts, including transformers driven by tuned duty-cycle pulses. It is through these interests in alternative energy that his work is catalogued within the dissident-science community.
