Hugh Pizzi is a British chemistry and science teacher based in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong, who is associated with the Natural Philosophy community through his stated interests in cosmology and particle physics. Biography
Pizzi earned a degree in chemistry from the University of Leeds, and before entering teaching worked in industry, managing quality-assurance and product-development laboratories in Leeds. He subsequently trained as a science teacher, completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the University of York.
He has taught for more than two decades, most of that time in international schools. Early in his career he taught English at a high school in Japan for two years, after which he returned to the United Kingdom to train as a science teacher and taught there for a year. He then taught in Costa Rica for two years and in rural Tuscany, Italy, for a year, and also spent time working as a scuba instructor in French Polynesia. He later settled in Hong Kong, where he taught chemistry and integrated science at Creative Secondary School in Tseung Kwan O. In August 2024 he joined the French International School of Hong Kong to teach chemistry and science.
