Grant Hayman is a Canadian independent researcher who writes on theoretical physics, unified field theory and advanced space propulsion. He is the founder of OVAL Tech, a small educational organisation and website devoted to presenting these subjects to a general audience.
Biography
Hayman is based in Canada and works outside the conventional academic system as an independent researcher. He founded the organisation now known as OVAL Tech, whose website was first released in 2005 under the name OVAL EcoTech. A second version of the site followed in 2013, with expanded content and improved navigation, and at its peak the site received more than 50,000 visits per month. A third, rewritten and redesigned version has since replaced it.
Work
Through OVAL Tech, Hayman presents material on three main themes: unified field theory, advanced propulsion, and the philosophical implications of science. The stated aim of the project is to introduce recent and unconventional concepts in theoretical physics to non-specialist readers and to inspire future scientists and explorers. Hayman argues that the suppression or restriction of scientific information for private gain has held back human progress, and that the free dissemination of knowledge is essential to overcoming that obstacle; all of the site's material is published at no cost to readers.
The unified field material presented by OVAL Tech treats gravitation and electricity as manifestations of a single underlying field structure, following Albert Einstein's later programme of a unitary field theory, and draws on the work of other researchers in that tradition. Hayman's propulsion work concerns proposed advanced interstellar space propulsion systems derived from such field concepts rather than from conventional reaction propulsion.

Hayman contributed to Antigravity Propulsion: Human or Alien Technologies? (2016), part of the Underground Knowledge series by James Morcan and Lance Morcan with Takaaki Musha, writing on advanced interstellar propulsion systems.
He has also provided commentary on the scientific literature of the field, including a review of the volume New Frontiers in Space Propulsion (Nova Science Publishers), which he described as "a fascinating work covering the newest and most revolutionary ideas for space propulsion systems."
