Francis J. Grimer was an English materials scientist who worked as a researcher at the Building Research Station (later the Building Research Establishment) in the United Kingdom. He is listed among the contributors to the Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Biography
Grimer was English and resided in Harrow, in the London area of the United Kingdom. During his career he was a research scientist at the Building Research Station, the British government building-science laboratory that in 1972 became the Building Research Establishment. His published research, appearing in the late 1960s and 1970s, focused on the mechanical behaviour of building materials and fibre-reinforced composites.
Work
Grimer's experimental research at the Building Research Station centred on the properties of construction materials, in particular glass-fibre-reinforced cements and plasters, autoclaved aerated concrete, and the analysis of stress-strain behaviour in structural materials.
