Mathias Hüfner is a German author and critic of modern theoretical physics, known for his writings challenging Einstein's theory of relativity and the interpretation of quantum mechanics. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Hüfner argues that a contradiction exists between classical physics and "modern" physics, which he traces to the introduction of relativity theory by Albert Einstein and of quantum mechanics by Werner Heisenberg and Niels Bohr. Drawing on a measurement-based ("metrological") approach to physics, he questions several established doctrines and, noting the long-unsuccessful efforts of theoretical physicists to unify general relativity with quantum theory, argues that this may indicate one of the two theories is mistaken. He also questions the standard distinction of the four fundamental forces, holding that forces can be distinguished only by strength and direction.
