Arvi Kruusing is an Estonian engineer and physicist. Within his conventional field he is known for work on laser materials processing and microfabrication, while he has separately published alternative-physics papers arguing for the existence of an aether wind. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Conventional work
Kruusing works on laser-assisted processing of materials and microfabrication. He is the author of the reference monograph Handbook of Liquids-Assisted Laser Processing and has published on topics such as laser ablation synthesis of silicon nanowires and steam laser cleaning. His research career is recorded in the Estonian Research Information System (ETIS/ERIS).
Dissident physics
In papers archived on the General Science Journal, Kruusing argues that the speed of light is directionally dependent and that classic interferometric experiments show evidence of an aether wind. He re-analyses the 1930 aether-drift experiment of Georg Joos, concluding that it displays the same regularity as other aether-wind tests, and estimates an aether-wind direction and a speed of the order of 20 km/s associated with the Earth's motion. These conclusions are contrary to special relativity and the accepted interpretation of the Michelson–Morley class of experiments.
