Elisabeth Becker-Schmollmann is a German author known for self-published works advancing an alternative model of the universe intended to replace the concept of dark energy. She is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Cosmological ideas
In her book Das Universum wird immer wieder neu geboren ("The Universe is Born Again and Again"), Becker-Schmollmann rejects dark energy as the explanation for cosmic expansion and instead proposes a cosmological picture in which the universe is treated as a sphere or hypersphere. In her account the Big Bang proceeds from the outside inward rather than from a central point outward, and the universe is described as an "inner sphere" that is repeatedly renewed. She presents this as an alternative to the standard cosmological reliance on dark energy and dark matter.
These ideas are self-published and lie outside mainstream cosmology, in which the accelerating expansion of the universe is attributed to dark energy within the Lambda-CDM model.
