Dzabrail Kh. Baziev (also transliterated Jabrail or Dzhabrail Baziev) was a Russian theorist known for a radical reworking of fundamental particle physics, published outside the academic mainstream. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Ideas
Baziev proposed that the accepted set of elementary particles is incorrect and that matter is built from a truly elementary particle he called the "electrino". On this basis he argued, contrary to standard physics, that the photon possesses both an electric charge and a non-zero rest mass—the subject of his article "The Charge and Mass of a Photon"—and he claimed to derive "absolute parameters" of the Moon, Earth, Sun and Galaxy from his scheme. His books include Truly Elementary Particles and Absolute Parameters of the Moon, the Earth, the Sun, the Galaxy and The Second Birth of Planck's Constant and a New Physics Theory.
The standard model of particle physics holds the photon to be electrically neutral and massless, and Baziev's claims are not accepted by the physics community; his work was distributed through his own publications and website rather than peer-reviewed journals.
