Dmytro Ivanovsky is a researcher known for co-authoring, with Volodymyr Krasnogholovets, an early paper on the deterministic submicroscopic dynamics of a particle in a physical vacuum. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Work
With Krasnogholovets, Ivanovsky published "Motion of a Particle and the Vacuum" in Physics Essays (volume 6, number 4, 1993, pp. 554–563). The paper treats the physical vacuum as a discrete, quantum medium and studies the deterministic motion of a free particle taking into account its interaction with that medium. The authors propose that this interaction produces special virtual excitations, later named "inertons," in the vacuum surrounding the moving particle. From the kinetics of a particle accompanied by a cloud of such excitations they recover relations associated with Louis de Broglie's 1924 wave–particle description.
This paper is regarded as one of the founding contributions to the "submicroscopic mechanics" / inerton-field programme subsequently developed at length by Krasnogholovets. The framework lies outside mainstream quantum mechanics and has been advanced primarily through the alternative-physics literature.
