Dimiter G. Chakalov is an independent researcher based in Sofia, Bulgaria, known for self-published speculative work on the foundations of physics, gravitation, the physical vacuum and consciousness. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Ideas
Chakalov maintains a personal website on which he presents his ideas about the quantum vacuum, dark energy, the nature of time and gravitation, and a hypothesized role for consciousness ("universal mind") in physical processes. Working outside the academic mainstream, he proposes reinterpretations of standard theory rather than results derived within it. He has publicly stated positions at odds with mainstream expectations, including a wager made in 2003 that the Higgs boson would not be discovered.
His writings connect these physics themes to speculative claims about mind and set theory, including a proposal he calls "maximal set theory" intended to address self-referential paradoxes. These proposals lie well outside accepted physics and mathematics and have not been adopted by the scientific community.
