David Cornberg (also published as David Ray Cornberg) is an independent researcher who writes on the foundations of physics and cosmology from a philosophical standpoint. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Ideas
In the paper "Reflections on a Variational Principle in Space, Gravity and Light" (2011), Cornberg argues for revisions to the standard notions of space and gravity, proposing a variational principle that he claims can address the wave/particle duality, dark matter and the cosmological constant across all scales of the universe. He develops related ideas under the heading of a "Universal Theory of Origination" in further essays on the wave–particle problem and on the universe as a phase transition. These proposals are speculative and lie outside the accepted framework of physics; Cornberg presents them as a philosophically motivated alternative rather than as established results. His papers are distributed through Academia.edu, the General Science Journal and his website, sciencedoubts.com.
