Constantin Leshan (also cited as Constantin Zaharia Leshan) is an independent theoretical physicist known for a "vacuum holes" model of space-time from which he derives proposals for gravitation and teleportation. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Ideas
Leshan proposes that quantized space-time is built from indivisible "space cells" (elementary virtual volumes) that continually appear and disappear, and that when a cell vanishes it leaves a "vacant place", or hole, that lacks the properties of space-time. He argues that the interaction of matter with these vacuum holes is a cause of gravitation. On the same basis he proposes that a body could in principle be "teleported" by being sent outside the universe into what he calls "zero-space" so as to reappear at another point, a process he suggests would be bounded by the scale of cosmological expansion. He classifies his work as an alternative theory that departs from the standard Big Bang cosmology.
Publications
Leshan's paper on the hole theory of gravitation appeared in Acta Physica Polonica B, Vol. 41 (2010). An earlier contribution, "Proposal for Teleportation by Help of Vacuum Holes", appeared in the conference volume Gravitation and Cosmology: From the Hubble Radius to the Planck Scale. He has also posted essays to the Foundational Questions Institute (FQXi) forums and maintains an online "hole teleportation" project.
