Aysun Yurttaş (also published as Aysun Yurttaş Güneş) is a Turkish mathematician and an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics at Bursa Uludağ University in Bursa, Turkey. Her research lies in graph theory, combinatorics and discrete mathematics, with a particular focus on topological graph indices.

Biography

Yurttaş is based in Bursa, Turkey, where she is a member of the Department of Mathematics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Bursa Uludağ University. She holds the academic rank of associate professor (Doç. Dr.). Her academic work covers topology, group theory and generalizations, combinatorics, discrete mathematics, and computational mathematics.

Work

Yurttaş works in the area of degree-based topological graph indices, which are mathematical quantities computed from the structure of a molecular graph in order to predict physical or chemical properties of the corresponding molecule. Such indices, including the Zagreb indices and the Albertson irregularity index, are used across chemistry, pharmacology, physics and biology.

Her publications include studies applying these indices to chemical structures, such as an analysis of the topological indices of dopamine, as well as work on inverse problems for irregularity indices and on bounds for degree-based indices of graph products. She has published extensively in mathematics journals, frequently in collaboration with other researchers at Bursa Uludağ University.
