About the author

Kulesh Chandra Kar (1899–1975) was an eminent Indian theoretical physicist and teacher at Presidency College, Calcutta. In 1953 he founded the Calcutta Institute of Theoretical Physics and its quarterly Indian Journal of Theoretical Physics, creating a forum for discussion of new topics in physics and applied mathematics.
