"‘Creation’ via Destruction of the Unfit" is an article by Glenn Borchardt published on 20 October 2025 on The Scientific Worldview.

Responding to a correspondent who invoked Leibniz and drew the usual line between the “how” that physical science answers and the “why” it leaves alone, Borchardt argues that for evolution the two questions are identical. The universal mechanism is univironmental determinism, and what looks like creation is on his account the destruction of the unfit — a matter of what survives collision rather than of anything being brought into being.
