"A Brief History of Quantum Gravity" is an article by Alexander Unzicker published on 28 April 2019 on Beyond Mainstream.
Unzicker observes that the incompatibility of quantum mechanics and gravity is treated as a central problem, that the Planck length combines G and h and is therefore taken to mark where quantum gravitational effects matter — and that this is very nearly the whole of what has been established. No theory exists and no observable effect has been found. He notes that the quantum gravity chapter of Hawking's A Briefer History of Time spends almost twenty of its twenty-one pages restating gravitation and quantum theory, and quotes Andrzej Staruszkiewicz's remark that no physical phenomenon calls for quantum gravity at all.
