Reelin Show (born February 20, 1973) is a Taiwanese electrical worker and independent theorist based in Sansing, I-Lan (Yilan) County, Taiwan. Trained in electronic engineering, he is known for developing an alternative cosmological model that he calls the Theory of Despace.
Biography
Show studied electronic engineering at college and works as an electrician in a shipbuilding company in Taiwan. He has described a long-standing interest in cosmology and science dating from childhood, and pursues the study of the structure of the universe and inventing independently of any academic institution. He credits the origin of the Theory of Despace to an idea that came to him around 2009, which he subsequently developed into a self-published book.
Scientific contributions
The Theory of Despace is presented as a model of physics built on a single premise: that there is only one substance in the universe, namely "space," and that "matter" is defined as the regions where space is absent. Show illustrates the concept with the metaphor that "for the bubbles in the water, there is no water," treating material objects as voids within a continuous spatial medium rather than as substances added to empty space.
From this starting point the theory attempts to give a unified account of gravitation and the electric and magnetic fields, and it introduces a model of the photon intended to describe the interaction of light with matter. The work is self-published and has not been peer reviewed; it belongs to the tradition of independent and dissident approaches to the foundations of physics rather than to mainstream academic cosmology.
