David Pantone is an American independent researcher and educator who develops, demonstrates and teaches the GEET (Global Environmental Energy Technology) plasma fuel reformer. He is the son of the GEET inventor Paul Pantone, and since his father's death in December 2015 he has led the GEET International Institute, continuing the family's work outside the mainstream energy-research establishment.
Note on identity: David Pantone is a distinct person from his father Paul Pantone (1950–2015), who invented the GEET fuel processor and has a separate page on this wiki. Both have spoken at Tesla Tech conferences, and conference listings and video archives are sometimes confused between the two.
Biography
David Pantone is a son of Paul Pantone, the Utah inventor who developed the GEET fuel processor and was later confined to a Utah state mental hospital following legal proceedings that his supporters regard as a wrongful persecution. David was active in the campaign to free his father, publishing recorded interviews intended to demonstrate that Paul Pantone retained full mental faculties while institutionalised; Paul Pantone was released in May 2009.
Paul Pantone died in December 2015 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, after a long illness. David Pantone took over the promotion, licensing and teaching of the GEET technology and runs the GEET International Institute, which states that "the goal of Paul Pantone and his son David Pantone is to use GEET to wipe out pollution and reduce the cost of living up to 95% for all of humanity."
Scientific contributions
David Pantone's work is centred on the GEET fuel processor, which its proponents describe as a retrofit device that pre-treats fuel before it enters an internal combustion engine. In the GEET arrangement, exhaust heat is recovered and transferred to the incoming fuel vapour, which is carried through a reaction chamber containing a magnetised "reactor rod" and held under vacuum. Proponents state that the combination of heat, vacuum and the self-generated field in the chamber causes a molecular breakdown of heavier hydrocarbons, and that intensifying the vacuum increases the rate of breakdown so that less heat is required. Pantone characterises the device as "a new type of carburetor with a miniature refinery built in," and as an onboard self-inducing plasma reactor drawing its power from the engine itself.
Advocates of GEET, including David Pantone, claim that engines fitted with the processor show large reductions in emissions, run on a very wide range of liquid fuels and fuel–water mixtures, and achieve substantial fuel savings; these are claims made by GEET's proponents and are not accepted by mainstream automotive engineering. Pantone presents GEET as adaptable to essentially any fuel-burning equipment, from small generators and furnaces up to cargo ships and power plants, and argues that it is the fastest and easiest route to ending poverty and pollution.
Beyond the engineering application, David Pantone treats GEET as an experimental platform for low-temperature plasma research. He works from his father's report of 181 phenomena observed around running GEET devices, of which at least eight are described as "unidentified fields of energy." In his conference presentations he has argued that the main obstacle to validating and replicating these observations is the absence of a common terminology and methodology among researchers, and he has offered specific diagnostic observations intended to make replication possible — for example that a hand-held digital thermometer will read hottest at the centre of the reactor rod, which he regards as a false reading caused by something inside the reaction chamber rather than a genuine hot spot; and that a reactor rod which has been run for about thirty minutes acquires an "auric field" and a detectable magnetic north and south, so that a compass can be used to check whether the rod is correctly matched and correctly oriented. He states that a magnetised rod installed backwards will prevent plasma from generating at all.
