Foundations of Science (FOS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Springer, covering the methodological and philosophical foundations of the sciences and the interactions between the various scientific disciplines. It is a mainstream scholarly journal in the philosophy of science.
Note: the journal name "Foundations of Science" is used on this wiki for more than one publication, and entries should be checked against the original source. Two other publications are easily confused with the Springer journal:
- the quarterly Foundations of Science published by Common Sense Science and edited by David L. Bergman — papers by Bergman, Charles W. Lucas, Jr., Glen C Collins and other CSS authors, usually cited with volume/number references such as FoS V13N1, belong to this journal and not to the Springer one;
- the closely related physics journal Foundations of Physics.
