Kevin Fruechte is an American independent researcher from Fairmont, Minnesota, United States, known for the "Fruechte Gravity Theory", a proposed mechanism in which the gravitational force arises from an exchange of gamma-ray energy between atoms and molecules.
Biography
Fruechte is based in Fairmont, Minnesota, in the United States, and works outside of the academic physics establishment as an independent investigator of gravitation. He publishes his work directly through his own website rather than through conventional journals.
Scientific contributions
In April 2007 Fruechte released a paper titled "The Gravitational Force May Be the Result of Gamma Ray Energy Exchange". In it he investigates the possibility that there is an exchange of electron rotational kinetic energy between atoms and molecules, and that this exchange is responsible for the gravitational force.
Starting from the conventional measured value of the gravitational constant, Fruechte derives a wavelength for the graviton of 3.97 x 10-15 m, roughly twice the diameter of the electron, corresponding to a frequency of about 7.55 x 1022 Hz, which places the proposed graviton in the gamma-ray part of the spectrum. His calculation reduces to the relation 4hf/3 = G, where h is Planck's constant and f is the frequency determined from the wavelength.
Fruechte presents astronomical observations as being supportive of the theory, including EGRET gamma-ray data from the Milky Way and gamma-ray emission measured from the Moon and the Earth, which he interprets as evidence of graviton production. He also suggests an experimental test using neutrons, which he predicts should show a lack of gravitational effect when isolated from other nucleons.
