Lisa Tully is an American researcher based in Boulder, Colorado, who works in the field of energy (or "vibrational") medicine. She is the founder of the Energy Medicine Research Institute (EMRI), an organization that evaluates the claimed efficacy of alternative and complementary health technologies and therapies.

Biography

Tully received her PhD in pharmacology and toxicology from the Indiana University School of Medicine, where she also completed a postdoctoral fellowship. Following her postdoctoral training she moved from conventional academic medical research into integrative and complementary medicine.

She has published in peer-reviewed medical journals and has presented her research at international scientific conferences. She has also served on the scientific advisory boards of several companies and non-profit organizations, and has worked as a research consultant and peer reviewer.

Work

Tully is the founder of the Energy Medicine Research Institute in Boulder, Colorado. According to the institute's own description, its mission is to assess the efficacy of vibrational medicine technologies and therapies, and it assists companies in obtaining clinical trials intended to support their marketing claims. Her research consulting has also included identifying emerging health technologies and products for companies, clinics and spas.

Her studies in this area have included investigations of consumer wellness products, such as a double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial of an energy patch, and research on devices marketed as protecting users from mobile-telephone emissions. These research areas fall outside mainstream biomedical consensus, and the claims associated with the products studied are contested.
