Work on this wiki that is Newtonian in nature — that seeks to describe the physical world using absolute space and time, Galilean transformations, Euclidean geometry, and forces transmitted by contact through a medium, rather than through fields, spacetime curvature or quantum formalism.

A good number of the researchers here go further and hold that the universe is Newtonian at every scale, from the subatomic to the cosmological: that there is one kind of thing, matter, and one kind of happening, matter in motion. Scope. This is one strand of the critical tradition documented on this wiki, not a position everyone here shares. Neo-Lorentzian researchers who keep the Lorentz transformation against a preferred frame, continuous-aether theorists, emission theorists, and plasma and Electric Universe researchers all dissent from relativity without being Newtonian in this sense, and are not included here. Pages are placed in this category when their framework is explicitly Newtonian, neo-Newtonian, or Galilean-Newtonian — not merely anti-relativistic.
