Frank Baird is a researcher known for a published critique of special relativity's Lorentz transformations. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Work

Baird is the author of "An Inertial Clock Paradox and the Real Meaning of the Lorentz Transformations," published in Physics Essays volume 5, issue 1 (March 1992). In it he applies the Lorentz transformations to a simple time-dilation problem and argues that the resulting outcome is not consistent with the principle of relativity. This conclusion is at odds with the scientific mainstream, which regards the Lorentz transformations as fully consistent with special relativity.
