Emory Taylor is a researcher known for a series of alternative-physics papers centred on what he calls the Loophole Hypothesis. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Ideas
Across a set of papers written between 2002 and 2012, Taylor develops the Loophole Hypothesis, which he applies to Newton's laws of motion, superconducting loops, and Dirac's fine-structure states. He proposes that light behaves as a "momentum oscillator" and argues on that basis that the wave–particle duality of light, the constancy of the speed of light, and the outcome of the double-slit experiment can be re-interpreted. He further argues that the motion of a light source is not imparted to the emitted light and that the motion of a receiver is not combined with it. These positions run counter to the standard relativistic and quantum-mechanical accounts.
