Nimit Theeraleekul is an engineer and independent researcher known for developing an alternative physical theory he calls "Vacuum Mechanics," which he presents as a candidate theory of everything. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Work

Theeraleekul maintains the website Vacuum-Mechanics.com, where he sets out his framework and publishes a series of articles under the heading "Engineer VS Modern Physics." He proposes that the vacuum is not empty space but a physical "vacuum medium" that forms the fabric of space, and he uses this idea to reinterpret established results of modern physics. In his account, such phenomena as relativistic mass increase and time dilation are treated as effects of the vacuum medium and of clock mechanisms rather than as changes in mass or time themselves, and he argues that fundamental particles such as electrons and protons are condensed regions of this medium.

He argues that his approach resolves what he regards as inconsistencies between general relativity and quantum theory and offers modifications to Maxwell's electromagnetic field theory and to Einstein's theories of relativity. These positions lie outside the scientific mainstream. He has posted versions of the work, including papers titled "Vacuum Mechanics" and "Vacuum mechanics a realistic theory of everything (VRTE)," to the viXra preprint repository.
