Warner Brandon Sizemore (October 23, 1925 – April 11, 2017) was an American clergyman and academic who served as an associate professor of religion at Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) in Glassboro, New Jersey. He is best remembered within the catastrophist and dissident-science community as an associate of Immanuel Velikovsky and as the executive editor of the journal Kronos.
Biography
Sizemore was educated at East Tennessee State University and Bob Jones University, and later earned a Bachelor of Divinity from Lincoln University and a Master of Arts from Temple University. He was ordained a Presbyterian minister and for many years served the East Whiteland (later Covenant) Presbyterian Church in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
In the mid-1960s he left the ministry and moved to the Princeton, New Jersey area, where he became an assistant to Immanuel Velikovsky, the controversial author of Worlds in Collision. He subsequently joined the faculty of Glassboro State College as a professor of religion.
Sizemore died on April 11, 2017.
Work
In October 1974 Sizemore, together with Lewis M. Greenberg and Robert H. Hewsen, helped found Kronos: A Journal of Interdisciplinary Synthesis, a periodical established to examine and defend Velikovsky's theories. As executive editor, he coordinated the journal's financing, production, and management from Glassboro State College. Kronos published 44 issues between 1975 and 1988.
In March 1975 he joined Greenberg and Hewsen in establishing the Center for Velikovskian and Interdisciplinary Studies. With Greenberg he co-authored Velikovsky and Establishment Science (1977), a collection issued as a special volume of Kronos.
