Graduated Phi Kappa Phi from Michigan State University 1956 with undergraduate majors in pre-med, pre-law and psychology. Spent Junior Year at Pembroke/Brown University in American Civilization Program 1953-1954. Did graduate work in history and psychology at Michigan State University. Worked on many different research projects over the years as a research assistant in the Departments of Psychology, Psychiatry (Medical School) and Education at Michigan State University. Worked as a Social Worker for the Michigan Department of Social Services. Worked as a Marriage Counselor for the Toledo Family Court. Worked as a Health Care Researcher for the Ingham County Health Department. From 1973 to 1996 worked for the Michigan Department of Mental Health as a social research analyst and for the Michigan Department of Management and Budget as a program budget analyst. Conducted a state-wide survey of adult foster care. Raised four children. Was PTA President and School Board Member.
