Eric Sabo (born April 19, 1950) is an American electrical contractor and independent researcher from East Haddam, Connecticut, known for his self-published theory of gravity and unification, which he presents through his website www.howgravityworks.org. Sabo argues that gravity is not a distortion of spacetime but an electromechanical effect arising from the electromagnetic interaction between atoms.

Biography

Sabo trained in nuclear fission through the United States Navy's atomic program, attending its nuclear school and serving in the Navy nuclear submarine program at Bainbridge, Maryland, in 1969–70. He subsequently worked as a licensed electrical contractor in Connecticut, specializing in building automation and control, including the heating, cooling, and electrical systems of large facilities and the ways in which they interact.

For roughly eleven years he was employed in the facilities engineering department of a Connecticut rehabilitation hospital, an experience he has described as informing his later interest in consciousness and the effects of illness and injury on patients. Across a career spanning several decades, he worked with electric motors and power distribution, pumps and piping, fluid dynamics, refrigeration, steam generation, chemical water treatment, and nuclear reactor construction and operation—practical experience he cites as the basis for his approach to physical questions.

Scientific contributions

Sabo is an independent, self-published theorist who is not affiliated with an academic or research institution. Beginning around 2005, he developed a body of writing built on the premise that the mystery of gravity is the principal obstacle to a unified theory of the forces.

In Sabo's account, gravity is a straightforward electromechanical phenomenon rather than a curvature of spacetime. He characterizes it as a weak electrostatic attraction between atoms, in which the attractive electromagnetic forces slightly exceed the repulsive ones, and he treats the electromagnetic force as the single fundamental interaction from which the others follow. On this basis he has also offered explanations for why all objects fall at the same rate, for the structure of the atom and of sub-atomic particles, and for matter–antimatter reactions.

These ideas fall outside mainstream physics, in which gravitation is described by Einstein's general relativity as the geometry of spacetime, and they have not been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Everything including Electrical Motors and Distribution of Electric Power, Pumps, Piping, Fluid Dynamics, Refrigeration, Steam generation, Chemical Water Treatment, Nuclear Reactor Construction and Operation, Nuclear Weapons of both Fission and Fusion types.
