Orville Hoyt Pattison (August 25, 1929 – March 3, 2021) was an American engineer based in Clovis, New Mexico. He operated a private engineering practice under the name O.H. Pattison Engineering and had a long-standing interest in low energy nuclear reactions (LENR). He is included in Jean de Climont's Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Biography
Pattison was born on August 25, 1929. He spent much of his life in Clovis, New Mexico, where he worked as an engineer and ran his own consulting practice, O.H. Pattison Engineering. He was a member of the American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers (ASABE). Pattison died on March 3, 2021, at the age of 91, and was survived by his wife Joy, four children, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Work
Pattison's professional work was in engineering, carried out through his practice O.H. Pattison Engineering. Outside of his consulting work, he took an interest in low energy nuclear reactions (LENR), a field—also referred to as cold fusion or condensed matter nuclear science—that investigates reported anomalous heat and nuclear effects in metal–hydrogen systems. On the basis of this interest he is listed among the researchers catalogued in the Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
