Glenn J. Turner is an English engineer, author and entrepreneur based in Gloucester, United Kingdom, who is known for the design and manufacture of gyroscopes and for his interest in gyroscopic propulsion, antigravity and magnetic propulsion. He is the founder of the retailer and manufacturer Gyroscope.com and the author of the introductory textbook Gyroscopes: An Introduction for Students, Engineers and Pilots.

Biography

Turner studied at the University of Gloucestershire, where he earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Computing. His final-year dissertation was awarded a prize by the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ). He is based in the Abbeymead area of Gloucester, England.

Turner has designed and manufactured gyroscopes since the late 1990s. He is the managing director of Brightfusion Ltd and of Kontax Engineering Ltd, and he founded the online business Gyroscope.com, through which he reports having supplied gyroscopes to customers in 138 countries.

Work

Turner's work centres on the design, manufacture and educational use of gyroscopes. Through Gyroscope.com and his associated companies he has produced a range of gyroscopic devices, including custom gyroscopes for specialist medical applications and consultancy for a Formula One racing team. He states that he developed the first affordable control moment gyroscope intended for teaching about spacecraft attitude control, and that he produced the first off-the-shelf Tesla turbines.

Turner has taken an interest in the theory of gyroscopic propulsion, and his websites host discussion of proposed uses of gyroscopes for propulsion, antigravity and magnetic propulsion applications.

In 2007 he published Gyroscopes: An Introduction for Students, Engineers and Pilots through Brightfusion Ltd, a 200-page introductory text intended to bridge the gap between brief dictionary definitions and heavily mathematical treatments of the subject.
