Arne P. Olson is a researcher known for proposing an alternative, vortex-based model of the internal structure of hadrons. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Work
Olson is the author of the paper "Quantum Vortex Structure of Mesons and Baryons," published in the journal Physics Essays (Vol. 10, No. 4, December 1997). In it he argues that the proton can be treated as analogous to a quantum vortex system of three neutral spin-1 vortices, offering a classical fluid-dynamic picture of particle structure as an alternative to the standard quark model. This vortex approach lies outside the mainstream of particle physics.
