Guangjun Cao was born and raised up in China's Henan province, his hometown is just beside the famous Yellow river in the central part of China. He received his bachelor and master degrees in computational and pure mathematics from Xian Jiaotong University, which is located at the ancient city of Xi'an. He came to University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada to do his Ph. D in mathematics in 1998 and has been teaching mathematics and statistics in several US/Canada colleges/universities since his graduation in 2003. Beside mathematics, Dr. Cao is also deeply interested in physics, especially the theories of relativity and quantum mechanics, and has published, or is working on, some important articles on these topics. Also, as a devote Buddhist, he has a solid understanding of the profound teachings of the Buddha, and as a result, he has some deep reflections/thoughts on some of fundamental questions in philosophy as well.
