Vujovic was born in 1933 in the village of Komarno, Montenegro. He graduated from medical school in Serbia in 1961 and practiced medicine in Montenegro, Austria and Germany before immigrating to the United States in 1969. He practiced internal medicine in New York City for more than 50 years, retiring in 2019 from Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn. During the 1970s he assisted the Yugoslav Medical Society and hospitals in Yugoslavia with cancer treatment protocols in the fields of hematology and oncology.
