André Michaud (born 1944) is a Canadian (Québécois) independent researcher, author and publisher, known for his work on an "expanded Maxwellian geometry of space" and on the electromagnetic mechanics of elementary particles. He is president of S.R.P. Inc. (Service de recherche pédagogique) in Québec and serves as an editor and administrator of the General Science Journal.

Biography

Michaud was born in 1944. His initial professional career was in computer sciences, systems analysis, data processing, computer languages, electronics and equipment–computer interfacing. Since 1982 he has been president of S.R.P. Inc., a Québec company that manufactures a physics demonstration air table used in the teaching of classical mechanics.

Alongside his work in fundamental physics, Michaud has maintained a long-standing interest in neurolinguistics, neural networks and early literacy in children, and has been associated with the International Association for Literacy from Infancy (IALFI). He writes and publishes in both English and French, and more recent papers have also appeared in Spanish and German.

Scientific contributions

Michaud's physics work develops what he terms an expanded Maxwellian geometry of space, also referred to as the "3-spaces model". Building on the work and discoveries of Maxwell, Heaviside, Searle, Wien, Lorentz and de Broglie, he proposes a causality-based model intended to address issues he considers unresolved by special and general relativity, by introducing a relativistic effect within nucleons, and to reconcile quantum mechanics with causality. The model is presented as accounting for the existence of the stable, physically scatterable elementary particles, for relativistic velocities and for gravitation from electromagnetic theory alone.

Related topics treated in his papers include the derivation of the electric permittivity and magnetic permeability of vacuum from first principles, adiabatic processes at the subatomic level, de Broglie's localized photon hypothesis, and extensions of the mass–energy equivalence relation into complex and quaternion coordinate systems.

He presented papers at international meetings, including the 2000 physics congress held in St. Petersburg, Russia.
