A little background on who I am and why I remained silent for over a decade. I have been an avid inventor and product developer since I was a kid. I was drawing detailed engines and mechanisms by age 9 and just had a knack for looking at a product and finding faults in the design. In school I spent all my time drawing machines and basic circuits. I worked on my first patent in High school and it issued in 1977. Since then I have developed over 200 products that cover several industries. I currently hold 21 patents that have issued or are pending published applications. As a product developer I have prepared dozens of patents for clients and read thousands of patents during searches over a quarter century now. I have seen it all when it comes to technology and I have an open mind which is rare in my field. I have designed and worked on alternative health devices like the RIFE machines and even worked with Barry Lynes the author of "The Cancer cure that worked". I designed the world's first Brainwave analyzer to measure correlates of I.Q. with Dr. John Ertl, a brilliant PhD in Cybernetics. I am putting this out there to say that I have always entered into any design or design evaluation task with eyes wide open and no preconceptions.

Jack P. Durban (born 1958) is an American inventor and product developer based in Mission Viejo, California. He is president of Vorel Company LLC and has worked across a range of high-technology fields, including robotic automation, robotic toys, RFID and asset tracking, loss prevention, electro-optics, medical devices, and consumer electronics. Within the dissident science community he is known for his public account of his involvement with the Steven Mark Toroidal Power Unit, an alleged New Energy device.

Biography

Durban describes himself as having been an inventor and product developer from childhood, drawing engines, mechanisms, and basic circuits from an early age. According to his own account, he began work on his first patent while in high school; it issued in 1977. Over the course of his career he reports having developed more than 200 products spanning several industries and having held or filed 21 issued or pending patents.

As a product developer, Durban has prepared patent applications for clients and conducted extensive patent searches. His stated core competencies include patent search, patent prosecution, and product development. He resides in Mission Viejo, in Orange County, California.

Work

Durban is named as a co-inventor, with Sean K. Gahan, of United States Patent 6,900,761, "Automated portable remote robotic transceiver with directional antenna," granted May 31, 2005 and assigned to Optistreams, Inc. The patent describes a portable, self-contained wireless transceiver with a robotic antenna-pointing system capable of automatically acquiring satellite or other target antennas for personal, commercial, and military use.

Durban has also reported working on alternative-health devices, including Rife-type instruments, and states that he collaborated with Barry Lynes, author of The Cancer Cure That Worked. He further states that he designed a brainwave analyzer intended to measure correlates of intelligence in collaboration with John Ertl, a researcher in cybernetics.

Durban is best known publicly for his statements concerning the Toroidal Power Unit (TPU) associated with inventor Steven Mark, a device that was claimed to extract usable energy from the environment. After more than a decade of silence, Durban went public as a former associate of the project. In his account he maintained that the technology functioned but that Mark had been less than honest in his business dealings, and he offered his own technical interpretation of how the demonstrations were conducted. His remarks were circulated through the PESWiki and Pure Energy Systems (PESN) free-energy media outlets.
