Well-known science fiction writer James P. Hogan calls himself a heretic and maintains a website dedicated to a host of non-mainstream ideas, including dissident physics. His latest non-fiction book, Kicking the Sacred Cow, clearly pronounces that all is not well in mainstream science today.
