* &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Genic energy.&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; Energy should be generated continuously within all celestial bodies, not only through nuclear fusion. A specific consequence is that &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;brown dwarfs&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; — too small to sustain fusion — should nevertheless produce energy and fall along the lower main-sequence mass–luminosity relation of red dwarfs. LaViolette regarded subsequent brown-dwarf observations as confirming this.&lt;br /&gt;
